Crunchfish Connected AR™ is a groundbreaking technology that enables discovery and communication with everything and everyone nearby. The technology opens up new interaction possibilities for m-commerce and social applications. A new field of application is m-identification, where the company’s patented technology enables a smooth and safe identification of individuals in the physical space.

There are a lot of situations where people identify themselves in the physical space. For example, at package pick-up, at the bank, at an entrance to premises or during login to a computer. M-identification digitizes the process and makes it faster, smoother and safer. Today there is e-identification that allows the identification of an individual online or in an app. In the physical meeting, m-identification is required, where the personal identity is associated with the identity of the mobile phone, and thereby accessing personal data online.

Crunchfish Connected AR™ technology is available in the software platform aBubbl®, which can deliver fast, smooth and secure m-identification to any third-party application today. Identification can be done by a mobile phone being held close to another mobile or a terminal without any requirement for user interaction. This is sufficient in many situations, such as mobile payment of a small amount or when entering a gym. If higher security is required for identification, PIN may be requested or biometric identification by thumb or face.

“M-identification digitizes the universal function of identification in the physical space. This is realized through AR (Augmented Reality) since this technology digitizes proximity, the immediate surrounding of a person or thing. Crunchfish has applied for patents for 16 inventions in AR, 9 of which have already been granted. It represents an exceptionally strong patent portfolio within AR.”, says Joachim Samuelsson, executive chairman of Crunchfish.

Crunchfish’s patent portfolio

Crunchfish has, nationally and internationally, 59 active patents and patent applications in two technology areas – gesture control and Augmented Reality. There are 11 unique inventions in gesture control, 10 of which have been granted and 16 unique inventions in Augmented Reality of which 9 have become patents. The company owns all its patents and patent applications without limitation.

Crunchfish’s strategy is to protect the company’s technology in all geographic markets deemed to be of importance. Crunchfish intends to extend its patent portfolio continuously to selected markets and through new inventions in both gesture control and Augmented Reality.
