China’s second largest smartphone manufacturer, OPPO, continues to use Crunchfish’s software for controlling camera features. OPPO’s two recently launched flagship models R17 and OPPO Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition, both use software for interaction with hand gestures provided by Crunchfish.

The software is provided under the license agreement signed between the parties last year.

OPPO is at the forefront of mobile devices with focus on camera features and design, which has contributed to the rapidly increasing market share in the past years

“We are pleased to see more and more gesture interaction in mobile phones and wearables and we are proud that leading device manufacturers like OPPO chooses our software for their prestigious models,“ says Joakim Nydemark, CEO of Crunchfish.

With market penetration in mature markets of around 90 percent and strong competition between smartphone manufacturers, there is a great need to deliver distinctive features. The big selfie-trend and the growing demand for AR-applications have convinced many manufacturers to invest in a better user experience, where gesture control plays an important role.
