Crunchfish receives US patent for visual gesture cues in AR/VR
Crunchfish has received a Notice of Allowance for a US patent for providing visual cues that helps the user understand what gesture can be used to activate a virtual object in AR/VR or mixed reality, strengthening the patent portfolio in the key US-market.
Crunchfish Gesture Interaction AB has today received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Authority (USPTO) for patent application 16/617 557 to be granted that will be valid until 2037. An application has previously been granted in Sweden and is pending in China.
The patent protects providing visual gesture cues in AR/VR and mixed reality that helps the user understand what gesture may be used to activate the virtual object in line of view. The graphical marking of the virtual object is provided as an animated morphing into the indication of the associated gesture, thereby replacing the virtual object's graphical marking with the associated gesture's indication.
”Crunchfish’s gesture patent portfolio is strengthened with a smart way of providing the user with a visual cue to understand what gesture may be used to activate a virtual object in the key US market for AR/VR and mixed reality applications.”, says Joakim Nydemark, CEO of Crunchfish Gesture Interaction AB.
